Cloak & Petal delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is vibrant and beautifully designed, but the food and the hospitality are what truly steal the show. ​Every dish we ordered hit the mark: ​Hamachi Kama: Cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside, incredibly tender, juicy, and flavorful on the inside. Easily a standout of the night. ​Fried Rice: Rich, savory, and perfectly seasoned with just the right texture. ​Shrimp Teriyaki Roll: Fresh, balanced, and packed with incredible flavor in every bite. ​What elevated the entire night was the service. Sara took incredible care of us. She was attentive, welcoming, and brought amazing energy to our evening. If you visit Cloak & Petal, do yourself a favor: grab a seat at the bar and ask for Sara.

Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful meal here. The atmosphere was amazing and the drinks were fantastic. We were celebrating our 8 month anniversary and this place came highly recommended. I loved the different backdrop behind each of us. The yellowtail was some of the best fish I’ve ever had and the spicy garlic edamame had our jaws on the floor. The drinks and the rolls are very non traditional with flavor combinations that Ive never had with sushi before. I recommend ordering a nigiri plate so you can taste all the fish before deciding on your rolls. I would love to come back here if we visit San Diego again. Such a wonderful way to celebrate our love. Thank you Cloak and Petal!

Food was incredible. The place is comfortable and beautiful. Ethan had great recommendations and quick/ polite service. 10/10 would recommend !!

I’ve been wanting to come to this place for years now. My girlfriend and I wanted to catch up after a long time. We had a reservation at another restaurant down the street but unfortunately we couldn’t get in because due to some miscommunication with the reservation so we walked into this place unplanned without a reservation. It was a friday, around 6:30 so we were able sit at the bar since it was just the two of us, right in front of the cherry blossom trees which was amazing! We didn’t really want to eat dinner dinner, but just snack and drinks. We ordered the Lychee Sakura, Kiwi Fu and Shiso peachy for drinks and they were all so delicious! We also ordered the vegetable dumplings (really delicious) and the avocado roll was okay. Can’t really speak fully to their dinner menu but for a catch up, this was kind of perfect

My partner and I were in San Diego after going to Julian and I had this place saved from TikTok. Absolutely worth all of the hype. The food is probably some of the best sushi and pork belly I have ever had. The atmosphere was electric and everyone on the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I cannot recommend this place enough to anyone traveling through or maybe even locals!
